2026_03 Director of Reliability Center Visits Universities in Da Nang and Hanoi to Strengthen International Academic Collaboration

From March 22 to 27, 2026, the Director of the Reliability Engineering Research Center visited Da Nang and Hanoi in Vietnam to promote academic exchange, research collaboration, and talent development. During the visit, the Director met with Da Nang University of Science and Technology (DUT), University of Technology and Education (UTE), and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). Several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed to further strengthen international cooperation and academic partnerships.

During the visit to Da Nang, the Center Director signed a cooperation MOU with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Da Nang University of Science and Technology (DUT). Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on joint supervision of graduate students, academic publications, research equipment development, and long-term collaboration mechanisms. DUT has been actively promoting internationalization and enhancing its research capacity, and expressed strong interest in strengthening academic cooperation and talent cultivation with the university.

The Center Director also plans to invite DUT faculty members to Taiwan for visiting research during the summer to advance collaboration in reliability engineering and mechanical engineering. In addition, the Director visited the Faculty of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering to discuss GPBL international collaboration, faculty research visits, and graduate student recruitment, further expanding interdisciplinary cooperation opportunities.

The visit continued at University of Technology and Education (UTE), where the university president and several senior administrators personally received the delegation. During the meeting, the Center Director introduced the university’s research centers and doctoral programs. UTE expressed strong interest in short-term student exchange programs and GPBL international activities, and hopes to promote undergraduate short-term training and international cooperation in the future.

The Center Director indicated that available government resources, including TEEP and related programs, will be evaluated to support future collaboration.

The Hanoi visit focused on Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). The Center Director met with the mechanical engineering research team and delivered a keynote lecture introducing the university’s research strengths, industry–academia collaboration achievements, and startup development initiatives. A departmental MOU was also completed to strengthen cooperation in mechanical engineering.

On the final day, the Center Director accompanied Professor Yong-Hwa Park from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology to meet with the President and Vice President of HUST for trilateral cooperation discussions. Another MOU between the Reliability Engineering Research Center and HUST’s School of Mechanical Engineering was signed, promoting joint graduate supervision, collaborative research, and future startup development initiatives.

This visit successfully established a trilateral academic collaboration network among Taiwan, Vietnam, and South Korea, strengthening international research cooperation and talent development, while laying a solid foundation for future technological innovation and the internationalization of higher education.
